Dealing with Failure

Anyone that knows anything about me or my background knows that I have made mistakes like any other person in life. As I have entered the work force and have started to try to become a helpful member of society I have come to the realization that there are few different ways that people deal with failure or mistakes in their lives.

  1. People do not except the fact that they failed in the first place. They blame the failure on outside factors which include: other people, on the government, on society, on culture, and even on religion. This type of person is scared that people will be disappointed with the failure or mistake and refuse to forgive them for this failure so they blame the failure on something else.
  2. People take full responsiblity for the failure and deal with the consequences that result from the failure or mistake. These people realize that not only will other people appreciate the honesty in which they present themselves with but these people also realize that failure is one of the best ways to learn.

Take a look at yourself and think about the last time that you screwed up…how easy is it to pass the responsibility for that failure or mistake on to someone or something else? At the end of the day you have to decide what type of person you are going to be a victim or a failure?
